Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers: Live updates, analysis, game stats for ‘Monday Night Football’

The goal of the Pittsburgh Steelers was to build confidence in Mason Rudolph in his return from a brutally-delivered concussion, but its mission not accomplished in the first half. His first pass of the game was a terrible throw to JuJu Smith-Schuster that a Pop Warner defensive back could’ve intercepted, but Xavien Howard did the honors on Monday Night Football (8:15 p.m., ESPN).

Down two touchdowns, Rudolph did seem to find some confidence late in the second quarter, and orchestrated a 12-play, 70-yard drive which ended in a field goal. The Steelers then intercepted a tipped pass, which set Pittsburgh’s offense up with possession at the 50-yard line. Six plays later, Rudolph found rookie wide receiver Diontae Johnson for a 45-yard touchdown on 3rd and 20 with just 26 seconds remaining in the half.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has played well so far, and has passed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. He did register an interception, however, thanks to an egregious missed catch by Nick O’Leary.
