MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – UP Health System Marquette is giving the community a chance to speak with department officials about possible job opportunities.
Each year, the hospital hosts job fairs to help fill various positions. They’ll be recruiting for medical assistant and service representative positions, in addition to various nursing opportunities.
Many of the jobs available are open to individuals without background in the medical field.
“A lot of times, the community might think that you need to have an active medical background in order to get into the hospital. So we’re not only giving opportunities for people who do have a medical background, but for people who might be looking to join the workforce and make a positive difference in their community that havent worked in a healthcare setting before,” said Walker Derby, HR Recruiter at UP Health System Marquette.
The Job Fair will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday Feb. 22, in the main lobby of the hospital. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resume to the event.
