Celebrity Bake Off SPOILER: Joe Sugg FAINTS after slicing his finger while Alex Jones receives hand stitches as she smashes a dish in shock episode

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) will descend into chaos on Tuesday night when two contestants sustain injuries in the famous tent.

Strictly Come Dancing 2018 finalist Joe Sugg shocks his fellow contestants when he faints after slicing the top of his finger just minutes into embarking on his first task.

Also suffering from an accident is the One Show’s Alex Jones, who receives stitches on her hand after smashing her mixing bowl during a tense challenge.

After TV favourite Tan France scooped the top prize on last week’s episode, YouTuber Joe, 28, battles it out for Star Baker status against presenter Alex, 44, singer James Blunt, 46, and This Morning’s Alison Hammond, 45.

However, the online sensation appears to get ahead of himself as he cuts his finger during the Signature Challenge.

‘I might need to sit outside for a bit’, Joe tells the on-site paramedics, before fainting.

Meanwhile, broadcaster Alex forgets to lock her bowl into an electric mixer while baking up a storm, and is subsequently left needing medical help.

Insisting she’s still keen to compete on the show, the media personality says: ‘I had to go straight off to the paramedic for stitches.

‘He said, “I’m just going to put in the anaesthetic” and I was like “No, there’s no time for that, I have a showstopper to make, just do it!”‘

On the upcoming episode, a show insider told The Sun: ‘It was utter carnage and there’s been nothing like it in the history of the celebrity specials. It was a shock they could carry on.’

Earlier this week, it was announced that filming for the main show has been delayed due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Channel 4 was due to start taping the 11th edition in spring, with Matt Lucas replacing Sandi Toksvig as the series’ new co-host alongside Noel Fielding.

A spokeswoman said filming would begin ‘when it was safe to proceed,’ making Bake Off only the latest show to be affected by the virus pandemic.

The BBC representative confirmed in a statement: ‘We continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice of Public Health England and we will delay filming on The Great British Bake Off until it is safe to proceed.’

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) continues on Tuesday night at 8pm on Channel 4.
