Celebrity Show-Off: Bella Thorne smokes pot and creates ‘High Art’ of Van Gogh before getting booted

Bella Thorne got high and dressed up like Van Gogh on Tuesday’s episode of Celebrity Show-Off, but it wasn’t enough to keep her on the program.

The 22-year-old actress was voted off the show by her fellow competitors after they viewed her self-created YouTube show, High Art.

Each of the celebrities had been tasked with creating a hit program on YouTube, earning money for their charities in the process.

Bella’s show had earned low ratings that week, despite its unique premise: She and her older sisters would smoke pot and make themselves up to look like famous paintings.

Bella went first, emulating Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night by donning a blue shirt and velvet blazer, drawing orange stubble on her face, and pinning her hair up under a blue-green light.

The look was subsequently compared to that of singers Ed Sheeran, 29, and Post Malone, 24.

For Frida Kahlo’s 1940 Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, Kaili Thorne, 28, put on a unibrow, butterfly hair clips and a ripped straw hat, as a cat stood in for the monkeys.

Dani Thorne, 27, wore a red wool beret, yellow lei and plenty of face paint to recreate Pablo Picasso’s 1937 Femme au Béret et à la Robe Quadrillée (Marie-Thérèse Walter).

As each of the women dressed up, a line at the bottom of the screen listed strains of marijuana named after each artist they portrayed, and detailed the health conditions they assuaged.

‘I have a contact high from watching that,’ joked Bella’s competitor, filmmaker Kevin Smith, 49.

‘As a fellow stoner myself, there’s nothing better than art,’ said competitor Ja Rule, 44. ‘But art on weed is even that much better.’

Last week, Rule had been number one on Twitter for his YouTube show, which featured an ad he did for his favorite L.A. restaurant, Papa Cristo’s Greek Grill.

The ad had gone viral, and the restaurant’s owner, Chrys Chrys, was thrilled, saying, ‘We’ve been here now for 71 years, and this has exploded. We’ve never had anything like this.’

Rule’s new show, ‘Rule Defeats the Internet,’ saw him tackling online challenges like jumping into a pair of pants, escaping from duct tape, and wrapping rubber bands around a watermelon.

‘This is like sliding pants on a chick with a fat a**,’ he said of the last challenge, which took 282 rubber bands and nearly an hour-and-a-half to make the watermelon explode.

It was later revealed that Bella and Rule’s programs had received the lowest ratings of the night, and the majority of their fellow contestants decided that Rule would stay.

Next week, Bella will be replaced by the DJ Diplo, 41, who warned the other celebrities in advance: ‘Now is when the competition begins.’

Tori Spelling, 47, also made her debut on the show Tuesday with ‘Holy ma-TORI-mony,’ which found her presiding over a virtual wedding.

An ordained minister and ‘DIY party planner,’ Tori said she wanted to give people back the celebrations they’d been missing during the coronavirus epidemic.

The couple she was marrying, Sarah and Gregg, detailed the palette they wanted, and shared their love of donuts and ’80s music with her.

The Beverly Hills 90210 star then made them a three-tiered donut cake at her home, and put up a ‘donut wall of love’ with sparkling gold donuts as decoration.

She dressed up two mannequins as bride and groom, and placed an iPad atop each of their heads, so that Sarah and Gregg could each speak through one of them.

With the happy couple virtually in place, Tori brought their friends in by video, and dressed her children up as wedding attendants.

She married Sarah and Gregg, and then asked Gregg to ‘virtually kiss the bride,’ punning that the newlyweds were now ‘mannequin and wife.’

As a surprise, Tori had singer Joey McIntyre, 47, from New Kids on the Block—one of Sarah’s favorite bands—check in to offer good wishes.

‘I really thought it was gonna be you up here at some point back in the day,’ cracked Sarah, who was doubly astounded when singer Debbie Gibson, 49, showed up with congratulations.

Kevin then volunteered that he had presided over 15 weddings himself.

His YouTube show, Son-in-Lockdown, had earned the highest number of views the week before, so he was back with a sequel.

On the show, his real-life daughter Harley Quinn, 20, dated an obnoxious guy played by Austin Zajur, her real-life boyfriend.

Harley wanted to protect her grandparents from coronavirus, and insisted that anyone leaving their house would be banned from coming back for two weeks.

Kevin recruited pal Jason ‘Jay’ Mewes, 46, to try to get Austin to leave his home, alternately scaring him, luring him with a bowl of marijuana, and calling him out to talk about God.

But Austin got Kevin to leave by mentioning that he’d run out of condoms for sex with Harley, making Kevin worry his daughter would get pregnant.

‘Jen, I’m going out!’ Kevin yelled to his real-life wife, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, 49, who then banned him from the house and made him go stay at Jay’s.

Singer Jason Mraz, 43, also offered up another episode of ‘Jason Mraz’s Mragical Mranch,’ set as last week at his home on an avocado ranch in Oceanside, California.

The episode centered around Jason’s fear that his beloved cat had ‘killed’ birds on the ranch, which led him to build a huge, Rube Goldbergian cat trap using Jenga pieces, dominoes, roller skates, an inflatable leprechaun and a laundry basket.

It failed to capture the cat, but when Jason realized that his ‘mroommate’ Billy actually killed the bird, he used the trap to snag him instead.

Celebrity Show-Off returns next week on TBS.
