Four people were injured in a freeway shooting on Interstate 580 in Oakland on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Oakland Police Department, which assisted with the incident just west of the 106th Avenue offramp, said there were three men and two women in the vehicle that was struck by gunfire at approximately 3:10 p.m. All the men and one of the women were hit.
The CHP shut down all eastbound lanes for several hours, reopening the freeway around 7:30 p.m.
Information on the victims or suspect vehicle was not available.
Detectives from the CHP Golden Gate Division are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the agency’s tip line at 707-917-4491.
