HOLLAND — A new women’s health practice recently opened in Holland. Laurie Birkholz, MD, and Associates officially opened on July 22 at 11971 James St. in Holland.
Birkholz, a board-certified family medicine physician and fellowship-trained women’s health specialist who has been practicing since 2007, opened a satellite office in Douglas in May before opening in the Holland office in July.
The practice is part of the Ms. Medicine network, a Cincinnati-based organization that focuses on improving healthcare for women and uses a concierge service model, charging an annual or monthly fee for membership.
“I’m thrilled we have finally opened our office in Holland,” Birkholz said. “And we’re also excited to have expanded our team and expertise so that we can provide more women with the healthcare services they need to live full and healthy lives.”
The practice also brought on a new nurse practitioner and aesthetics trained nurse injector, Anna Spoelhof, and a registered nurse, Kelli Rivera.
Spoelhof, a 2014 Hope graduate, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She will offer services under the direct primary care model at the practice, which offers a lower cost option to join the practice.
Rivera is a 2005 graduate from the University of Michigan and has experience in surgical nursing and surgical intensive care.
Prior to opening her own practice, Birkholz most recently practiced at Lakeshore Health Partners, part of the Holland Hospital Medical Group.
